This Vinegar BBQ Sauce Recipe is extremely versatile because it can readily be adapted to satisfy most peoples' tastes. The amount of vinegar can easily be adjusted as can the degree of heat. This could be the best barbecue sauce for most everyone, with a few personal tweaks here and there.
Our Vinegar BBQ Sauce goes so nicely with chicken, pork, kielbasa, and more. We made a wonderful
Baked Barbeque Chicken
the other night, and we hardly touched the rest of our meal so we could have more chicken.
In some places, the weather for backyard barbeques is way too short, but we didn't even miss the grill...we had our own barbeque right from the oven.
Ingredients
1 cup apple cider vinegar
2 cups tomato ketchup
4 tablespoons light brown sugar
2 teaspoons mustard
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper or 1 teaspoon hot red pepper flakes, depending on your taste. Don't be afraid to adjust this recipe according to your personal taste.
Method
Whisk together all ingredients in a saucepan, blending them together well.
Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring frequently to dissolve the sugar.
When the sauce is to your liking, cool it to room temperature for use right away.
If you plan to use it later, refrigerate until ready for use.
Our sauce keeps indefinitely in your refrigerator...the beauty of vinegar.
This Vinegar BBQ Sauce Recipe will yield 3 cups if you use the amounts as listed here.
If this Barbecue Sauce Recipe is a "keeper," I hope you'll also try a batch of
