You'll love this Swedish Apple Pie Recipe...minimal time in the kitchen with apple-icious results. With few ingredients, it's definitely an easy apple dessert recipe.

Sometimes, you want the fresh taste of apples, but don't have the time to make a homemade apple pie crust...then what? Sure, here's a perfectly sweet apple dessert just loaded with fresh apple taste...not 8 or 10 apples either, actually, only 2 will do.

Because of the nice, light brown crust, I would say it goes in the apple pie desserts category. It's one that I would be pleased to serve to family or guests, and I can make it ahead of time and freeze it either whole or sliced into pie wedges. Very versatile little dessert; hope you'll give it a try.

Ingredients

2 large apples, peeled, cored and sliced

1 tablespoon sugar

1 cup sugar

1 cup flour

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

3/4 cup melted butter

1 egg

Method

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F and spray a 9-inch pie plate lightly with nonstick cooking spray.

  • Toss the apple slices with the 1 tablespoon of sugar, and place them in your pie plate.

  • Whisk together the sugar, flour and cinnamon.

  • In another small dish, whisk together the melted butter and the egg.

  • Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix together well.

  • This mixture will be thick, so spread it evenly over the apples.

  • Bake in your preheated oven until the apples have softened and the topping is just golden brown.
