You'll love this Swedish Apple Pie Recipe...minimal time in the kitchen with apple-icious results. With few ingredients, it's definitely an easy apple dessert recipe.
Sometimes, you want the fresh taste of apples, but don't have the time to make a homemade apple pie crust...then what? Sure, here's a perfectly sweet apple dessert just loaded with fresh apple taste...not 8 or 10 apples either, actually, only 2 will do.
Because of the nice, light brown crust, I would say it goes in the apple pie desserts category. It's one that I would be pleased to serve to family or guests, and I can make it ahead of time and freeze it either whole or sliced into pie wedges. Very versatile little dessert; hope you'll give it a try.
Ingredients
2 large apples, peeled, cored and sliced
1 tablespoon sugar
1 cup sugar
1 cup flour
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
3/4 cup melted butter
1 egg

This is my kind of "diet food." Just ordered some for myself.
Method
Preheat your oven to 350°F and spray a 9-inch pie plate lightly with nonstick cooking spray.
Toss the apple slices with the 1 tablespoon of sugar, and place them in your pie plate.
Whisk together the sugar, flour and cinnamon.
In another small dish, whisk together the melted butter and the egg.
Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix together well.
This mixture will be thick, so spread it evenly over the apples.
Bake in your preheated oven until the apples have softened and the topping is just golden brown.
