Hello, as I mentioned on our home page, I'm Penny Finn. I realize that some web sites are very impersonal, and I never want this to be the case here at apple-recipes-with-good-taste. I would like you to know that I'm not just a name on a page; I'm a real person who just happens to love apples, apple recipes, and people. I would like you to feel very welcome every time you visit, and by all means visit often and look all around while you're here.

Just so you'll know a bit more about me, I've been married to my husband Bob for 40 years, and we have three adult children--two daughters and a son. For the entire 40 years I've nourished a great interest in cooking and baking, having quite a few taste-testers right in my own home.

After all these years, nothing has changed, except I am an even more avid home cook. My kitchen, however, bears absolutely no resemblance to Paula Deen's or anyone else's on TV. It's small and I only have one oven. I have made terrific use of my trusty old hand mixer as well as my new stand mixer...a gift from my Mom. My utensils are not new and shiny, but they do the job, and quite well I might add. I must have gotten accustomed to them and just haven't needed to replace them. I certainly can say it's "Penny's Kitchen."

Please feel free to make any of the wonderful apple recipes you find here, no matter what type of kitchen you have. Each is very comfortable not being in a "professional kitchen." So, I hope you'll roll up your sleeves and give them all a try. Oh, if you happen to have a professional kitchen or even a large kitchen, I'm sure the recipes will feel at home there, too. It just has to be "Your Kitchen."

As you've no-doubt noticed, our site is relatively new, but I thought it important that I set up a way for you to reach me. You are a special guest in my "home" and very important to me. If you have questions or comments you'd like me to know about, I hope you'll use the contact form below to get them to me. If you require a reply, I'll do my best to answer you as soon as possible.

I started my culinary learning experience 40 years ago and have taken classes, courses, read books, adapted recipes, and have written my own. With the advent of the Food Television Network, we can watch and learn from expert cooks and chefs from around the world any time we choose.

It has sparked a new interest in food and its preparation. And, has prompted me to open a web site and put my own "Penny Spin" on some apple recipes from the past as well as some new ones, ranging from salads to desserts.
