Our Easy French Toast Recipe will have breakfast on the table in no time. It can also be called one of the make-ahead breakfast recipes because you can sometimes make a double or triple batch...one batch for that day and one or two for the freezer.
I just make them on the griddle or in the frypan, and when they're done, I use how ever many I need for that day, and transfer the rest to a double layer of waxed paper on a large plate.
In between each layer of French toast, I continue to put two more sheets of waxed paper. All you do now is put them, as is, into your freezer until they're hardened. When they are, have a freezer bag waiting to just toss them in...no sticking together or anything.
How many homemade, quick easy breakfast recipes allow you to take just the number of pieces out that you need and either toast them in your toaster or heat them in the microwave. Even weekdays can become a time for our Easy French Toast Recipe.
By all means, keep this little gem in your quick breakfast recipes file. Oh, and did I mention that they're extra moist and extra good, too?
Ingredients
2 large eggs
3/4 cup milk
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
1/4 cup applesauce
6 slices of bread (I actually used wheat bread, and it was great.)
Indulge your passion for books. You'll love the vast number and types of books they have...even out-of-print books.
Method
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, cinnamon, sugar and applesauce.
Transfer part of this mixture into a flatter type bowl or dish to make it easier to soak and remove your slices of bread. Add more as necessary.
Soak each slice of bread, one slice at a time, until saturated with the liquid batter.
Lightly grease a large skillet or griddle.
Over medium/high heat, lightly brown each side until lightly browned. Serve hot with Maple Syrup or our Apple Honey Syrup for a wonderful change of pace.
