Our Bisquick Scone Recipe no doubt originated with the "Bisquick" company. However, and I'm sure they would agree, their basic scone recipe has been adapted from its original version many times over.
This formerly-traditional scone recipe, has now become a unique version all its own...of course with the addition of our ever-favorite diced apples, apricot jam and sweetened coconut. You could also sprinkle nuts on the tops of our Bisquick Scone Recipe or use any combination of the jam, coconut and/or nuts. You get to be the artist with this recipe. Have fun!
Oh before I go, you may have noticed in the photo above my distinctive, new "apple" potholder...I received a set of them as a welcomed, handmade gift from my sister-in-law, Marie. They've been busy ever since.
Ingredients
3 cups Bisquick Baking Mix
4 tablespoons granulated sugar
1 Granny Smith Apple, diced
1 cup milk
Jelly or Jam (Your choice of flavor, too.)
coconut
finely chopped nuts
GLAZE INGREDIENTS (Optional)
4 tablespoons sifted confectioner's sugar
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1 tablespoon milk (Add more for thinner and less for thicker glaze.)
Method
Preheat oven to 375°F and grease a large cookie sheet(s).
Combine the Bisquick, sugar, diced apple and milk.
Drop by tablespoon onto the prepared cookie sheet(s).
Make a small indentation in the middle of each scone where you will place about 1/2 teaspoon jelly or jam.
Sprinkle with coconut and add finely chopped nuts, too, if you choose.
Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes or until done.
When you remove the scones from the oven, you can drizzle a little glaze over the top.
You can return them to the oven for a minute or two or leave them just the way they are.
We just posted a new recipe for Apple-Blueberry Muffins and it's a great one, too. Please take a minute to check it out...blueberry season will be here before you know it. By all means browse around...you're welcome all the time.
