Baked Barbeque Chicken

Tasty baked barbeque chicken straight from your oven.

I hope this Baked Barbeque Chicken Recipe will soon be one of your favorites. Of all the boneless, skinless, chicken breast recipes, this has become a go-to recipe for our family. I find that this is, in part, thanks to our new Vinegar BBQ Sauce Recipe . As you can see in the photograph above, together they make one nice-looking appearance and the taste actually rivals that of chicken that could have been cooked on a gas grill. We generally use a charcoal grill, so the flavor would be slightly different, but nonetheless great-tasting.

I can't wait until mid-winter to really appreciate the "outdoor taste" of this baked barbeque chicken. I think I'll freeze some corn on the cob and really "do it up right."

Ingredients

4 Boneless, skinless chicken breast halves*

*I used the above chicken breasts as is, but to insure even browning and baking, you may want to pound them to an even thickness.

2 tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce

garlic salt to taste

pepper to taste

1/2 cup vegetable oil

1/2 cup flour

Vinegar BBQ Sauce Recipe

Method

  • Preheat oven to 400°F

  • Line your chicken up on a piece of waxed paper or on a flat surface like a tray or platter.

  • Brush both sides of the chicken with Worcestershire Sauce; sprinkle both sides with garlic salt and pepper.

  • Put oil into frying pan and heat to med/high to get a nice golden brown on each side

  • As you coat chicken with the flour, place in hot oil to brown.

  • Keep in mind that you will be baking the chicken in the oven for a total of 20 minutes, so you don't have to cook the pieces all the way through on top of the stove.

  • Place chicken on a cookie sheet or oven pan; brush bbq sauce over chicken and bake in preheated oven for 10 minutes.

  • Remove chicken from the oven and baste again with the bbq sauce; return to oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes.

  • Please do not take any shortcuts. This recipe is as good as it is because the chicken is fried first, so please do not omit this step.
