Apple Blossom Times
Your Monthly E-zine from
Apple Recipes With Good Taste
Hello,
What a few days of unseasonably-high temperatures in our area can do to our thought processes. Suddenly it feels safe to start thinking about planting a garden or planning some barbecues and picnics.
I marvel at one of our neighbors, whose age is somewhere in the 80’s. Her garden soil is all prepared, her vegetable and flower plants have been purchased, and there they sit just waiting for her to plant them.
It's nice to have this opportunity each month to thank you for continuing to visit our site and for welcoming the Apple Blossom Times into your home or office.
I truly hope you enjoy our newsletter and if so, will forward a copy to your friends and relatives. I am thoroughly convinced that a good word from you along with a copy of the newsletter is the best and most personal way to let others know
about our site.
Now, on to the May Edition of Apple Blossom Times.
Warm wishes,
Penny
Recent Additions to our “Apple Recipes” website
Several new recipes have been added to the Apple Recipes' Site since we last spoke, so I thought I'd preview a few in case you haven't stopped by for a visit lately.
As usual, when you click on each link or picture for the four recipes, the page will open in a new window. Just "X" out of that page whenever you want to return to the newsletter.

Apple & Raisin Waldorf Salad
is a terrific "all-in-one" type salad. I hope you'll find as many uses for it as we do. Main dish, sandwich, or part of a buffet, it's a definite winner.

Maple-Apple Chicken
is a nice-looking as well as great-tasting main dish. You may
want to use this recipe for guests some time. I'm sure they'll appreciate the fact that it's basically a "healthy" dish as well.

Apple-Cheddar Muffins
are wonderful by themselves with a little butter. However, they are great as an accompaniment to a brunch menu, lunch, or dinner...very versatile muffin.

Broccoli-Apple Salad
can be a little different each time you make it by adding or subtracting some of the ingredients.
Fun Facts About Apples

Mother's Day is celebrated in various countries at different times and in different ways. However, Mother's Day in the United States will be Sunday, May 10th this year.
The recipes I've put together in "pdf form" this month are ones that I hope will help families as they honor the mother or mother figure in their lives.
It was a tradition in our house for the children and Daddy to make breakfast, which would then be served to me in bed. The best part was that the children's table-and-chairs set would also be set up in the bedroom, and I'd have lots of "company" to eat breakfast with me.
I hope our "Apple-Cheese Pancakes," "Breakfast Casserole," and/or "Apple-Crunch Squares" will provide some different choices for Mom's special breakfast.
Maybe your family takes "Mom" or "Grandma" to dinner. Of course everyone is too full to think about dessert right after dinner, and that's where our recipe for "Apple Grunt" will come in handy.
Dad or other family member could make that up ahead of time and invite your family to have dessert at your home. Just heat it up a bit and add the topping of your choice to end Mother's Day on very warm, sweet note.
The "pdf version" of this month's recipes are just for you. They will not appear on the "Apple Recipes" website. You will need an Adobe Reader to view them, but most people have that program. If not, you are welcome to pick up a free copy
here.

Happy Mother's Day,
Penny
